9. Children's Privacy
Tales of the Tods creates personalized comics for children, and we handle children's data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What we collect about a child: only the child's first name and the character face you choose from our menu. We do not collect a photograph of your child, biometric data, the child's address, or the child's own contact details.
Parental consent: purchases may only be made by a parent or legal guardian, or an adult acting with their permission. By entering a child's name at checkout, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian (or have their consent) and consent to our using that name to create and deliver the comic.
How we use it: the child's name and face selection are used only to create, deliver, re-issue, and provide access to the personalized comic.
No profiling or ads aimed at children: in line with Section 9 of the DPDP Act, we do not track or behaviourally monitor children and do not direct advertising at children.
Retention and deletion: we keep a child's name only as long as needed to deliver the comic and provide access, or as the law requires. A parent or guardian may ask us to access, correct, or delete a child's information at any time by emailing talesofthetods@gmail.com.
Security: we use reasonable security practices and do not sell children's data.
Grievances: for any question or complaint about a child's data, contact talesofthetods@gmail.com. Under the DPDP Act, you may also escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
